Ali rented us faulty equipment with no warning prior to pickup, at which point he vaguely mentioned that the XLR cable might not work. Sure enough, after arriving to set and testing it, it didn't. In an effort to resolve the rental with Sharegrid, he changed his story and denied us a refund. This was the only negative experience I've had with Sharegrid in 6 years. Be prepared to test his equipment and take video evidence of anything that doesn't work to protect yourself if you have to rent from him. Otherwise you'll be out a rental fee, the cost of replacing the gear, and some unneeded headaches.

The singlehanded WORST rental experience I've had on Sharegrid. Ali ghosted me after my rental request was confirmed and I stood outside his apartment both at night and on the following morning to attempt to get the gear I needed. He disconnected his phone that next morning so I had to hop his fence and get to his door in order to get a response. When I confronted him he laughed in my face and told me "wow guess you really needed this equipment." Sparing more ridiculous details I highly recommend you NEVER consider renting from Ali.
